Course Objective

The Diploma in Global Business is an introductory programme designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the principles and practices of international business. This course covers key areas such as management, marketing, economics, accounting, and business communication within a global context.
Students will gain insight into how international businesses operate across borders, understand the impact of cultural and economic diversity on business decisions, and develop practical skills for working in cross-cultural environments. The programme incorporates real-world case studies, group projects, and interactive learning to prepare students for further academic study or entry-level roles in global business, trade, or management.

Course Structure
Introduction to Global Business:
This module provides students with a broad overview of the global business environment and the fundamental concepts of international trade and commerce. It explores how globalisation, cultural differences, political systems, and economic factors influence business decisions and operations across borders.
Students will examine the roles of multinational corporations, international organisations, and global supply chains, gaining insight into the opportunities and challenges of conducting business in a global context. This foundational module lays the groundwork for more specialised study in international business and related disciplines.
Principles of Management:
This module introduces students to the core principles, functions, and practices of modern management within organisational settings. It covers key management functions such as planning, organising, leading, and controlling, while examining the roles and responsibilities of managers in various business environments.
Students will explore classical and contemporary management theories, leadership styles, decision-making processes, and organisational structures. Through case studies and discussions, the module develops foundational knowledge and critical thinking skills essential for effective management in today’s dynamic and competitive business world.
International Marketing:
This module offers students an introduction to the key concepts and strategies of marketing in a global context. It explores how cultural, economic, legal, and political differences across countries impact consumer behaviour and marketing decisions.
Students will examine topics such as global market research, international segmentation, entry strategies, branding, and the adaptation versus standardisation of marketing mixes. Emphasis is placed on developing practical skills for analysing global markets and formulating effective international marketing strategies.
Microeconomics for Business:
This module introduces students to the fundamental principles of microeconomics with a focus on real-world business applications. It explores how individuals, firms, and markets interact to allocate resources, set prices, and make production and consumption decisions.
Key topics include supply and demand, elasticity, market structures, consumer behaviour, cost analysis, and the role of government in market regulation. The module equips students with analytical tools to better understand economic decision-making and its implications for business strategy and operations.
Business Communication & Cross-Cultural Skills:
This module focuses on developing effective communication skills for use in diverse business settings, with an emphasis on cross-cultural awareness and global competence. Students will learn to craft clear and professional business messages, deliver impactful presentations, and engage in written and verbal communication suited to international business environments.
The module also explores how cultural differences influence communication styles, decision-making, and workplace dynamics. Through practical exercises and case studies, students will gain the skills needed to communicate confidently and appropriately in multicultural teams and global business contexts.
Fundamentals of Skills Accounting & Finance:
This module provides an introduction to the basic principles and practices of accounting and finance, with a focus on their relevance to business decision-making. Students will learn how to interpret financial statements, understand key accounting concepts, and apply fundamental financial techniques used in managing a business.
Topics include the accounting cycle, budgeting, cash flow management, financial ratios, and the distinction between financial and management accounting. The module equips students with essential numerical and analytical skills needed to evaluate the financial health and performance of an organisation.
Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Diploma in Global Business programme at KII College, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
Age Requirement:
- 
Applicants must be at least 16 years old or above.

Mature candidates (30 years old and above, with a minimum of 8 years of work experience)
 
Academic Qualifications:
Applicants should satisfy ONE of the following criteria:
- 
Minimum 1 GCE A-Level pass with E Grade; OR
 - 
Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis (based on the equivalence to the GCE A-Level).
 
English Language Proficiency:
Applicants must meet ONE of the following English proficiency criteria:
- 
C6 pass for English at GCE 'O' Levels or equivalent
 - 
Minimum band score of 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent
 - 
Pass the English Entrance Test conducted by KII College
 - 
KII College's Certificate in English Level 3 (Intermediate)
 - 
Minimum score of 85 and above in Duolingo English Test

KII College Global Business diploma programme consists of 6 modules which may be completed within 6 months.
Total Contact Hours for Full-Time Course is 387 hours, with 5 days per week lesson, and
on average the there are 3 hours per lesson.

Award:
Upon successful completion of the required subjects outlined in the program structure, students will be granted the Diploma in Global Business from KII College, Singapore.

The assessment and examination structure may consist of various formats, including:
