English programs are designed to equip you with the academic and language skills necessary for success in both your future studies and professional pursuits. The course comprises five levels, each requiring a two-month commitment for completion. With a team of experienced and highly qualified teachers, students can expect exceptional support tailored to enhance their academic journey, which well-prepared them for the multifaceted challenges of higher education and professional pathways.

Course Objective

KII offers face-to-face Certificate in English programmes to meet your needs. Students are open and close once full or on the application deadline date mentioned, whichever comes first. The course  aim to provide ample of opportunities for interaction between students and personal attention from teachers.

 

Each programme offer students with a modern way of studying with our professional experience. During enrollment, students are required to take a placement test, which includes a written and an oral evaluation. The test results will determine the student's level of study. Progress will be monitored regularly throughout the assignments, weekly progress and monthly test reports. At the end of each level, students are awarded a certificate which indicates the level they have successfully attained.

 

The main aim of the English course is to ensure that you meet or exceed the minimum language entry requirements for your chosen further study programmes and in the companies. In addition, you will:

  • Receive an introduction to the Singapore’s academic culture

  • Improve your ability to use academic English appropriately and effectively at university level

  • Develop your academic reading and writing skills to cope with the demands of your next programme

Learning Outcomes for English Course (E-Learning)

  • Students can strengthen their awareness of the usage of the English grammar in writing and speaking

  • Students will enlarge their vocabulary by keeping vocabulary notes, and improve their speaking ability in English both in terms of fluency and efficiency.

  • Students will strengthen their ability to write academics papers, essays, and summarise using the process approach

  • Students will increase their reading speed and comprehension of academic articles.

  • After completion, students are expected to be able to understand lectures for their academic subjects, analyse examination questions and provide appropriate answers.

Students’ Entry Requirements for English Course (E-Learning)

Age Requirement:

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old or above.

Min entry requirement – IELTS band score

  • Elementary : 3.0 IELTS Band score

  • Pre-intermediate: 4.5 IELTS Band score

  • Intermediate : 5.5 IELTS band score

  • Upper – intermediate: 6.0 IELTS band score

  • Advance : 6.5 IELTS band score

 

Or hold equivalent English certificates from other institutions.

All applicants are requested to sit for the level test.

Delivery for for English Course(E-Learning)

All our English courses are conducted face‐to‐face lesson with 15 hours per week.

There are 120 hours in total both full‐time and part‐time per level, over 2 months period.

Lecture: 64 hours per course

Tutorial: 32 hour per course

Assessment: 24 hours per course

Assessment & Examination for English Course (E-Learning)

Each level is assessed by 100% examination including reading, listening, writing and speaking.
