Course Objective

 

The Advanced Diploma in Global Business is designed to deepen students’ understanding of international business practices and prepare them for higher-level roles in a globalised economy. Building on foundational business knowledge, this programme explores advanced topics such as international strategy, cross-cultural leadership, global supply chain management, and digital business transformation.

Through real-world case studies, group projects, and applied learning, students will develop critical thinking, strategic decision-making, and practical skills essential for navigating complex global markets. Course Structure

 

International Business Strategy:

This module explores the strategic challenges and opportunities faced by businesses operating in international markets. Students will examine how firms develop and implement global strategies to achieve competitive advantage across diverse cultural, economic, and regulatory environments.

Key topics include global market entry strategies, competitive positioning, strategic alliances, localisation versus standardisation, and the impact of geopolitical and technological change on international business decisions. The module equips students with analytical tools and frameworks to assess global business environments and formulate effective international strategies.

 

Global Supply Chain & Logistics Management:

This module provides an in-depth understanding of how global supply chains and logistics systems are planned, managed, and optimised in today’s interconnected business environment. Students will explore the end-to-end flow of goods, services, information, and finances from suppliers to customers across international markets.

Key topics include supply chain strategy, procurement, transportation and distribution management, inventory control, warehouse operations, Incoterms, and risk mitigation. The module also examines the role of technology and sustainability in modern logistics and supply chain practices.

By the end of the module, students will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively manage logistics operations and make strategic supply chain decisions in a global context.

 

Cross-Cultural Leadership & Global HRM:

This module explores the key concepts and practices of leadership and human resource management (HRM) within a global and multicultural context. It examines how cultural diversity influences leadership styles, team dynamics, motivation, and communication in international organisations.

Students will study topics such as cross-cultural leadership theories, global talent acquisition, international performance management, expatriate management, and ethical HRM practices. Emphasis is placed on developing the intercultural awareness and strategic thinking required to lead effectively and manage human resources across borders.

By the end of the module, students will be able to apply HRM strategies and leadership approaches that align with the demands of global business environments.

 

International Trade & Economics:

This module introduces students to the fundamental principles of international trade and their impact on global economic relations. It explores why countries trade, how trade policies are formed, and the role of international institutions in regulating trade.

Key topics include comparative advantage, trade barriers, tariffs, exchange rates, trade agreements (such as FTAs), and the functions of organisations like the WTO and IMF. The module also examines the economic implications of globalisation, emerging markets, and trade imbalances.

By the end of the module, students will have a solid understanding of how international trade shapes economic policy and business strategy in a globalised world.

 

Digital Transformation in Global Business:

This module examines how digital technologies are reshaping global business models, operations, and competitive strategies. Students will explore the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, and e-commerce on international business practices.

Key topics include digital innovation, business model transformation, digital marketing, cybersecurity, and the challenges of managing digital change across diverse cultural and regulatory environments. Case studies and practical examples will highlight how organisations leverage digital tools to enhance efficiency, customer engagement, and global reach.

By the end of the module, students will understand the strategic importance of digital transformation and be equipped to contribute to digital initiatives within a global business context.

 

Business Project / Capstone: Global Market Expansion plan:

This capstone module provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to a real-world business scenario by developing a comprehensive global market expansion plan. Working individually or in teams, students will research international markets, analyse competitive environments, and formulate strategic entry and growth plans for a selected product or service.

The project integrates key concepts from management, marketing, finance, supply chain, and cross-cultural communication, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving in a global context. Emphasis is placed on practical application, presentation skills, and strategic decision-making.

By the end of the module, students will produce and present a professional business report that demonstrates their readiness for further academic study or career advancement in international business.

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Advanced Diploma in Global Business programme at KII College, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

 

Age Requirement:

  • Applicants must be at least 17 years old or above.

 

Language: English

 

Applicants must meet ONE of the following English proficiency criteria:

  • C6 pass for English at GCE 'O' Levels or equivalent

  • Minimum band score of 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent

  • Pass the English Entrance Test conducted by KII College

  • KII College's Certificate in English Level 3 (Intermediate)

  • Minimum score of 85 and above in Duolingo English Test

 

Academic:

  • Business related diploma awarded by local Polytechnic or KII College or other relevant Diploma holders

Delivery and Assessment for Diploma in Business Administration

 

Delivery for Advanced Diploma in Global Business:

  • 100% Online

  • The same diploma is awarded to all students.

 

KII College Global Business Advanced diploma programme consists of 6 modules which may be completed within 6 months.

Total Contact Hours for Full-Time Course is 387 hours, with 5 days per week lesson, and

on average the there are 3 hours per lesson.

Lecture: 8 hours per week

Tutorial: 4 hours per week

Assessment: 3 hours per week

Module Durations: 65 hours per module 

 

Duration of Course:

Full-time: 6 Months

 

Award:

Upon successful completion of the required subjects outlined in the program structure, students will be granted the  Advanced Diploma in Global Business from KII College, Singapore.

 

 

Assessment & Examination for Diploma in Business Administration 

The assessment and examination structure may consist of various formats, including:

  • 100% assessment

  • 100% examination, or

  • a combination of both assessment and examination.
